Bulls

Please find below further information on our current Stock Bulls as well as information on our previous bull Cowtham Justice who bred many fantastic calves for us.

Justice

Name:  Cowtham Justice
Sire:  Djerk
Grand Sire:  Rake Terance
Details:
Justice was purchased at Perth in 1995 for 2,000 gns.  His first calf was Unique who sold for £2000 to MacGregor, The Binn, Glenfarg, she went on to become the Reserve Champion at the Scottish Winter Fair and Champion at the Royal Highland Show.  Since then he has bred numerous champions for us and continues to be a successful AI sire with calves having sold to £6,500.  Unfortunately we no longer have Justice however we do have a limited amount of semen for sale.  As this bull leaves his progeny with fantastic carcasses and style, he would be very successful breeding with pedigree cows and would suit todays market demand - please contact us for further details.

Sadly we do not have any good photographs of Justice, the photo above is when he was 10 years old therefore really does not do him Justice!!!  However there are many photos of his progeny throughout the website.

 Butch

Name:

 Craigatoke Butch

Sire: Haltcliffe Underwriter
Grand Sire: Goldies Oswald
Details:
Butch was bought in May 2008 at Carlisle. His first crop of calves are showing great potential with tremendous width of backs and a wide pelvis combined with being correct on their legs and very easily fleshed.  Butch sired the Reserve Champion heifer at the Royal Northern Spring Show 2010, which sold for £3,800 to W Peters, Monzie.  We have also received prices of £3000, £2000, £1800, £1400 and £1300 (x6) for his progeny all of which have been sold as 12month old calves or younger.

Champion

Name:

 Naby Champion

Sire: Vivaldi
Grand Sire: Waindale Jackpot
Details:
Bought in February 2009 at Carlisle, Champion's first calves were born in January 2010 and he is proving to be an easy calving sire.  His progeny have nice, sweet heads and are very correct on their legs, they all look promising and are already beginning to shape up well at a very young age.  His first calf sold was Res steer at the Caledonian Marts Premier Sale, he was then sold for £1100. He has since won his class at both Agri Expo and the Royal Highland Winter Fair. Champion has recently been sold to a top commercial herd.

Bringlee Volkwagon.
Name:

Bringlee Volkawagon

Sire: Baron de Bois Bauloy
Dam:  Bringlee Sandy
Details:
Relatively new to the herd. Previously very successful sire with David Kelly at Netherhall with his first son selling to 17,000 gns (Netherhall Buster).  An exceptionally well bred bull with both Volkawagon himself and his two full brothers successful AI sires. We are delighted with his first crop of calves. They are showing very good growth, combined with muscle and correctness. His first calf sold at 5month, and was Reserve Champion at The Caledonian Marts Premier Sale (sept 2010). She later sold for £3200. He looks like he is going to breed some great females for the future.

Fedneyhouse Dapper

Sire: ULM
Grandsire:  Milbrook Tanko
Details:
Dapper was purchased in May 2010 at Carlisle.  He is showing the same characteristics as his sire, ULM, he has great style and character which he will hopefully pass onto his progeny.  We are pleased with his first calves, they are shaping up nicely and the first of his calves will be for sale at The Royal Northern Spring Show 2012.

Name:

Bringlee Connel ET

Sire: Baron de Bois Bauley
Dam:  Bringlee Sandy
Details:
After losing Volkawagon in November 2010, we were delighted to be able to purchase a full brother, Bringlee Connel.  Although he is not the height of his brother, Connel may be even wider.  He has already sired commercial calves to £1550 in his previous herd and we wait with interest to see his first Logierait calves in the Autumn.
